About Me

photo of owner

Hey, I'm Kiana, a graphic designer and creative consultant living in Upstate South Carolina.

I'm deeply inspired by the things I come across during my travels, especially those items that aren't easily found in the states. My favorite creative avenues are graphic design, event photography, and illustration.

I've always had a strong affinity for the art and creative realm. I still have many binders and folders from my teenage years filled with drawings, poetry, and other artwork. My initial graphic design project was creating a website for my local high school FFA chapter in 2010. Since then, I've been continually growing.

I attended Clemson University and earned my B.S. in education in 2016. Additionally, I'm currently enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University as a graphic design major with plans to minor in photography.

Presently, I work as the Website + Social Media Coordinator at Sanctuary of Praise Church in Anderson, SC. I've also undertaken numerous projects for the UPCI and beyond. The conception of Chinola emerged from a prayerful desire to contribute to churches and emerging ministries. Consequently, my goal is to assist churches in need by providing the branding and visibility necessary to bring their communities closer to Christ.

My hobbies encompass travel, reading, language learning, and spending quality time with my husband Kirby and our dog Tillman.

HOW CHINOLA CAME TO BE

the most yummy drink on the planet: Chinola Juice

Ahhh, Chinola.

So I've been doing graphic design since about 2010. It started through my passion for creativity and the arts. I've been freelancing since around 2014.

In 2019, the company I worked for sent me to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for about 4 months off and on. There I met so many friends who showed me around their city. Living on the company dime in a cheap country... well... let's just say I felt rich. A friend introduced me to fresh "Chinola juice" at the chamos next door to my job. From the first taste, I was hooked. I then had a Chinola juice with my breakfast every single morning. In English, Chinola means passion fruit. Through my design and my love for the arts, I felt it a fitting name to give my creative company.

In 2020, I felt the Lord impress upon me to start up a company that can offer creative solutions for churches, especially those who cannot afford to build out their brand identities. For those churches, we offer free or lower-cost creative design to help new church works.

Since the start of Chinola, we have rebranded from Chinola Graphics to Chinola Creative Co, as we expand in the creative world to offer that much more to our customers. We hope you'll link arms with us as we embark on this creative journey together!
